Prepare the converter conditions, not just a target inductance

The same nominal value can behave differently across converter topologies and cooling environments. Include the conditions below whenever possible.

  • Topology, application position and switching-frequency range
  • Inductance, ripple waveform and DC bias range
  • RMS, peak and fault-current conditions
  • DCR, efficiency or loss budget and allowable temperature rise
  • Cooling method, ambient range, altitude and maximum envelope
  • Isolation, creepage/clearance and project-specific compliance documentation
